Asbury Park Brewery said in a news release that it'll officially reopen at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 24. The new brewery is located in a 3,180-square-foot space on Cookman Avenue, just a block away from the House of Independents concert hall.

The brewery originally opened in an old warehouse on Sewall Avenue in 2016 and has been run by musicians who grew up playing at nearby venues.

"It’s been a grind the last few years trying to get this new space open," says brewery founder Bob McLynn. "We can't wait to welcome back our old friends who used to come to punk shows at the old space along with everyone hitting us up on social media waiting for this place to open. We have some great new beers in the tanks that will be released soon!"

The brewery is partnering with national musical acts for limited-edition beer releases, including Panic! At The Disco, Bergen County native Jack Antonoff, and The Front Bottoms, a rock band that started in Woodcliff Lake. A beer called "Pony Pale Ale" celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Stone Pony, a historic music club on North Ocean Avenue.

In addition to new collaborations, Asbury Park Brewery will have 12 beers on tap. Their selections include an east coast IPA called "Sea Dragon", "Watermelon Summer", "Blonde", and a New England-style IPA called "Dragon Juice".

An artist in the city known as Porkchop created an art installation in the tasting room with collages of posters, photographs, and concert tickets of famous musicians who have performed in Asbury Park. A wooden record wall with more than 8,000 vinyl albums is behind the bar.

The layout of the taproom was also designed with music in mind.

"The interior design of the brewery was inspired by Japanese listening bars, which encourages customers to enjoy the musical experience," the brewery said in its release. "It features natural and vintage elements like an exposed brick wall and reclaimed wood as bar tops to create a welcoming feeling."

Asbury Park Brewing will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
